Playing with Paige!

We LOVE our Paige-E-Poo! Last week I was lucky to get to babysit Paige for the morning the her big sister Maggie went to tour her new school with her Mommy and Daddy (Hollie & Wiley Childers). Gavin is just one month older than Paige and they love playing together. Watching them play together gives me a serious idea of what having twins would be like and I am glad that God chose to bless me in a different way (laugh). They were a hoot - check out their antics...

Gavin and Paige

Shopping for some GREAT buys!

Separated at birth? They look so much alike with their big blue eyes, curly hair and kissable cheeks!

Peek-A-Boo Paige!

Look at my new trick!

Beautiful busy baby!

I only have eyes for Paige!

We are so glad to have the Childers family here in Bahrain! Can't wait for our next play date!

LOVE sent from Oklahoma (times two!!)

Grammy surprised the boys with one of her famous "Box of the Month" care packages. It's AMAZING how much she can cram into one USPS box!! We laugh teasing that it's like opening up Mary Popins' carpet bag...

Gavin loves playing with the box! He enjoys putting the items in and then taking them out... again and again and again! (Notice his new backpack - he loves it and will wear it for hours... Sweet Boy!)

Will you be my Pen Pal? :)

Snack Keepers = SNACKS (Gavin's FAVORITE word!!!)

AND The BIGGEST hit of the night Zhu Zhu Pets! They are motorized guinea pigs that move, do tricks, and make funny sounds. The boys were hysterical with these things! Tanner's first comment was "We could have a lot of fun with these mice and Nida!" (Nida is our housekeeper - I'll need to worn her!)

The funny thing is that Mom picked out two that look just like the guinea pigs Lauren and I had when we were kids (geeeze, I hope these two don't breed like our real ones did!)

Gavin loving on the monkey from his new backpack!

They LOVED IT! Thank you Grammy!!!!

The boys have been spoiled! Thank you Papa John and Grandma Beth for a great care package... The boys were so excited to see some of their long lost Christmas toys, as well as all the new books and gifts! Here are some highlights!

It felt like Christmas all over again! The boys were so excited to see what surprises were hidden in the packing peanuts!

Zany Bandz! Now we know what Lando is talking about... we had no idea these things even existed. They are VERY VERY popular with the kids back home in Oklahoma!

"Mommy help me open my new Baby Einstein books!!!"

"YAY! A new OU shirt because my old one is too small!!!"

THANK YOU Papa John & Grandma Beth!!!!

Literature Day at Nadeen International School

My adorable Tanner was Cat in the Hat for Literature Day yesterday. The whole school dressed as characters from their favorite books. The children enjoyed parading in the courtyard and shopping for used books at the used book stall. They delighted in hearing their teachers and parent volunteers read the books that inspired their costumes. Tanner was proud to win the "Best Mum Made Costume" (and so was I if we're being honest here) he was happy to show off and share his prize: a new book!

"We looked!
Then we saw him step in on the mat!
We looked!
And we saw him!
The Cat in the Hat!"

"I know some good games we could play,"
said the cat.
I know some new tricks,"
Said the Cat in the Hat.
"A lot of good tricks.
I will show them to you.
Your mother
Will not mind at all if I do."

Then we saw him pick up
All the things that were down.
He picked up the cake,
And the rake, and the gown,
And the milk, and the strings,
And the books, and the dish,
And the fan, and the cup,
And the ship, and the fish.
And he put them away.
Then he said, "That is that."
And then he was gone
With the tip of his hat.

HOT AS HELL!

So at what temperature is it that contacts melt in one's eyes?!?

Yes, this is the reading on my center console in the Morano...

It reads that I'm listening to the "hot" tunes of "RADIO BAHRAIN" (one of the only English speaking radio stations in the whole country) at 2:09 PM while trying not to melt in the refreshing 120 degree weather.

YUP, you read that correctly - NO TYPOS HERE - 120 degrees. The humidity varied yesterday from 40%-70% and I would be willing to bet it was at about 60% at 2:00PM. Do the math and figure out what the heat index was... OH, your calculator doesn't display numbers THAT big? Mine either. Can anybody say SAUNA?!?!?!

I had just picked Tanner up from school and while driving home we achieved a new all time record (for me anyway) the sad part here is that it's ONLY the beginning of June... Anyone else thinking what I'm thinking? This girl's going to DIE in August!

Forget it, I'm going to become a hermit.
