OUR CHILDREN SERVE TOO!
April is Military Child Appreciation Month! Many people forget the sacrifices made by the children of Military Service Members. My children are young and easily "bounce back" from moving from one duty station to another but not all families are quite so lucky.
All month the base has planned fun activities for the military children of NSA Bahrain. The festivities began with the Easter Egg Hunt, followed by movies, cookouts, educational seminars for parents and teachers to help children cope with school changes, a luau and now the grand finale:
SPRING FLING CARNIVAL!
The party started with a parade from the CDC (Child Development Center) to the NEX. The base "spine" and commons area was transformed Thursday night into a carnival wonderland!
Activities included three bounce house inflatables (two had big slides), a dunk tank, carnival games, a DJ with dance floor and light show, clowns, jugglers, balloon animals, face painting and henna!
To continue with the theme of the night, carnival food was served: popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones! The kids had a blast and we appreciate all that the CDC and MWR do for our children!
