Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Gavin "discovered" the PURE JOY of Chocolate chip pancakes this weekend!

He was so delicious I just HAD to share!

Any volunteers out there for Gavie-kisses? ;)

Thobe-a-licious!

Ever since we moved to Bahrain Tanner has wanted to "dress like Mr. Abdul" so after many requests I picked up a thobe for my little man on one of my late-night souq adventures with Heather.

As you can see, he's feeling pretty cool!

Gavin was checking out Tanner's new "get-up"... looks like I may need to make yet another run to the souq! ;)

SPECIAL DELIVERY!

FUN with a baby, a boat, a ball and a box! ;)

The video reflects a pretty typical morning at the Flusche house, Enjoy!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Gavin is days away from turning 21 months, as you can see in the above video he his a VERY busy little guy!

Gavin likes to pretend he's talking "business" on the phone, anything can be a phone, ANYTHING! He "vrooooms" cars and "RRRRAAARRRH" everything from toy dinosaurs to blocks. If he picks up something that is soft or stuffed (such as a teddy bear) he cuddles it up to his neck and pretends to "rock the baby"... sweet little boy!

Recently Gavin has taken a liking to dancing which we call his diaper-booty-boogie AND folks... music is NOT necessary to bring on his fabulous moves!!! (laugh) Another hobby (to my dismay) is climbing. Gavin will be my dare-devil child, completely fearless! He can now scale the bottom landing of our marble staircase in less than 5 seconds and it scares me half to death - KEEP AN EYE ON THIS GUY, he may be tiny but he's mighty (and seriously FAST)!

Gavin's words are slowly but surely coming:
Mama- his FAVORITE word - mine too! ;)
Dada
Bobo- ("Brother" perhaps, it's what he calls Tanner)
Mo- (more)
Dis- (this)
Seeees- ("Cheese", when he sees a camera - sadly, my doing - poor kid, LAUGH!)
My- (Interchangeable for "mine" and "my" ("water" in Arabic)

This week he has mimicked:
Tee-Too ("thank you")
Saw-Saa (What's that?")
Uuuu-Ooooo (uh-oh)
pay-jay (play with Jade)

We leave for Tulsa to see family in just a few days, it's been 11 months... They're not going to believe their eyes!

Packing for Tulsa!

Wishing For Cold!

Our theory is "If you wear it, IT will come" and in this case "IT" is FALL!!!

I know I've been a blogging-slacker lately but it's been a little crazy around here with school, homework proctoring, getting PLAY off the ground, quilting for my newest niece, shuttling T-Bob to and from swim lessons and hanging out with my Lil' Gavie. Sorry it's been so long since my last update... but I'm no fool - I know what you really "tune in" for and it ain't my comical whit, right? (Laugh!) I know, I know, you just want pics of the boys. Sooo, my dear family, your wish is my command! ;) Enjoy!

Little by little, I have been packing for our up-coming Tulsa trip. The other night the boys looked at the stack of "cold weather clothes" like they were strange artifacts from a time long gone. I've never seen 2 people more excited by long sleeves, jeans and stocking caps! It was pretty comical to say the least! Here is the photographical laughable evidence!

See you in a week!

Off to Kindergarten!

Tanner started Kindergarten Wednesday, September 1st! I still can't believe he's old enough to be in Kindergarten! When did he get so big and how did it happen so quickly?

I started a tradition when Tanner went off to Mother's Day Out for the first time... I decorated the kitchen with party supplies and baked chocolate chip scones for him. Since then, every time he starts up at a new school or begins a new school year I do the same thing! This year he ate his scones on the beautiful red "Today you are special" plate Tobey gave me as a gift. Each time the plate is used by the "special someone" the date and occasion is permanently written on the back of the plate. Today was Tanner's day!

I drove Tanner to school on his first day but he rode the bus home all by himself. His school day is from 8:00AM-2:30PM.

The bus picks him up in front of our villa at 6:45AM (yes, that's not a typo, 6:45AM!) and drops him off in the same place at 3:30PM. Is it just me or is that not an incredibly long day for a 5 year old?

Tanner was instructed to wear a red shirt for his first day. He chose to wear his Bahrain Rugby Team jersey, if you ask me (and I know you did) he looked adorable! ;)

Tanner was very excited to see his classroom and find his name on the bulletin board outside the door. He said " Mommy LOOK! It's MY name!!!"

Tanner is in Ms. Minehan and Ms. Crosby's class and had a WONDERFUL first day!
